The very thought of waxing (anything) makes most sane people’s toes curl. But, thanks to advances in technology and some very considerate people at the Guinot Institute, the EpilSmart system has been developed.

It’s a hair removal system that uses rosen (a purified form of resin) rather than wax because it works more effectively, is pliable and smells pretty good too. By “pliable” we mean that the therapist uses cold formula (that’s right – no burns) with a heated spatula and is able to take her time applying the formulation (almost paper thin is ideal). The hairs remain standing once the formulation dries, so they are removed at the root, which means regrowth takes longer than conventional systems. Because the rosen dries to an almost plastic consistency, the “rip” is a lot less painful and issues like spider veins are not made worse.

All round, this is a more comfortable, longer-lasting option. Another bonus? It works out around R6 more expensive than conventional waxing options.
