If you’re searching for fabulous stocking fillers this festive season or simply want to support a cause, give these beauty products a try; they each donate a portion of their sales to charity...

PROTECT A CHILD
The Body Shop and the ECPAT network have joined forces to help alleviate human trafficking with the new Soft Hands Kind Heart Hand Cream (R65). All profits from sales will be donated to the international organisation that fights against child pornography, prostitution and trafficking. The cream is non-greasy, and through the use of Community Trade organic olive oil and Angelica extract, it conditions and soothes your skin, leaving your hands feeling fabulously silky and cared for.

HELP BREAST CANCER SURVIVORS
Innoxa will be assisting various local charities through their Circles of Women campaign by donating 10% of the beauty company’s profits when any product from the new Bath & Shower line (creams, scrubs and spritzers) is sold. You can choose from the ‘Calm,’ ‘Exhilarate’, ‘Restore’, ‘Enrich’ or ‘Balance’ ranges, all of which have soothing and rejuvenating qualities specific to your needs. Each month a new charity is chosen – in January 2010 the profits will go to the Amabele Belles Dragon Boat racing team, all of whom are breast cancer survivors committed to uplifting their communities.

EDUCATE A KID
The Clarins Eau Dynamisante Collector Spray with Golden Heart Emblem (R440 for 100ml) will launch early next year in South Africa. For every bottle sold, R50 will be donated to the Most Dynamisante award winners of the past, all of whom are women helping abandoned and needy children through education and care. This limited-edition perfume blends fresh citrus and plant extract fragrances; a perfect mixture for the summer months. The pretty, gold heart, designed by artist Lorenz Baumer, can be worn as a necklace too.

ASSIST AIDS-AFFECTED HOUSEHOLDS
The M.A.C. Aids Fund has been helping communities affected with HIV/Aids since 1994. This year, in support of World Aids Day on 1 December, the South African M.A.C. team donated R650 000 to a Soweto-based children’s centre, for children who have been orphaned by HIV/Aids related deaths. M.A.C. and their spokesperson, singer Fergie from the Black Eyed Peas, endorse the plum-pearl Viva Glam VI lipstick (R130) and lipglass (R120) – 100% of the profits from sales will be donated to people living with HIV/Aids.

SAVE THE PLANET
EcoTools is a new, anti-animal testing, green beauty range endorsed by actress, Alicia Silverstone. The brand sells everything from makeup brushes and buffs to body lotions and mists. Together with the 1% For The Planet movement, EcoTools donates 1% of their annual sales to environmental organisations helping to save the planet and its people. Although the brand’s collection of products will only be launched in South Africa in January/February, they have been saving the planet 1% at a time in the United States.

PLANET A TREE
When Elizabeth Arden launched their new fragrance ‘Pretty’ (R295 per 30ml/R460 per 100ml), they simultaneously created the ‘Make the World a Prettier Place’ campaign with non-profit organisation Trees for the Future. Every time a user posts a comment on how to make the world a prettier place on their website, Elizabeth Arden plants a tree. So far 1 520 trees have been planted.
